I was born and raised in Kfar-Saba, Israel (1964). Until a relatively late age, I was a typical student - learning towards a Doctorate in Chemistry and later towards a Doctorate in the Philosophy of Science. Yet from my childhood days, I have been writing constantly, and after meeting my spouse about 20 years ago, received a box of oil pastels from him and started to paint. The box of paints, and the many trips we made around the world to see art, created within me an ever growing fountain which in time felt as if two parallel beings exist: the first researching and analyzing, while the other writing, painting and connecting to the supernatural. This lead me - to the discontent of my peers, supervisors and all who argued that I was ruining my future with my very own hands - to leave both doctorates, which not surprisingly dealt with molecules of color and color cognition, and followed the spirit calling from within. The tension between the two characters reached a climax and I suffered from anxiety attacks and depression. The intensity of the forces that pulled me to opposite directions was strong, and the fear from loss of ego was harsh. I then started to write a story about a girl struggling for self fulfillment and at the same time followed my dream to live in Amsterdam for several months. I took with me some art materials, and there all of the rational explanations collapsed and painting and writing prevailed. The story was completed; I bought tremendous amounts of the best quality art materials and worked day and night. I experienced then a deep serenity, and have ever since, in a fluctuating process, been painting and writing. When I returned from Amsterdam I fell in love with my three year old niece, and entertained her with my stories and drawings. With the very special attitude of kids, she gave me clues as how to write a good children's story. A few years later, I moved with my spouse to Toronto, and am currently represented by a major literary agency, and in the process of establishing the paintings.
